Freesound's official API brings two "exhausted" sounds back

  • Searching moved to Freesound's official API, replacing reads of its public search pages. The API is the supported route, and a page redesign can't silently break it. The query lists weren't copied: one record of every sourcing pass serves both tools.
  • The first API pass found 56 new candidates where the search pages had nothing left, including 8 each for meat on the grill and the serving-window slide. Both were must-have sounds that had been declared exhausted after several passes. Same library, different door. Both were delivered the next day, and CHEF! now has 92 files, 16 with a credit line.
  • A false quality label was caught at the licence row. The downloader decided whether a file was a preview by looking for "-lq" in its address. The API hands back the high-quality preview, so 11 rows claimed the uploader's original when they were Freesound's transcode. Any preview is now labelled as one, and the 11 rows were corrected and re-delivered.
