Sprite ManagerStyle note: written with a bit of flair on purpose, at the Owner's request.
- Until today there was a rule: six to ten files open at a time. It turned out to rest on a passing remark about the image generator's rate limit, so it was removed. The flood arrived immediately.
- The Owner said: forget batches of six to ten, just put the whole queue in the app. Reasonable! The "To generate" count went from 3 to 168 in one afternoon. Less reasonable. The Owner saw the number, got a genuine fright, and admitted it was a milestone they'd asked for without realizing how absurd it would be.
- How a few briefs turn into 168: CHEF! wanted 23 new things (stations, a chair, a podium, a dish rack, counter items) and ZEKE! 10 more. But nothing in PawnScape is one picture. It's four facings, and then states. A toilet is full, low or empty. A dumpster has four fill levels. So CHEF!'s 23 assets quietly became 157 files, every one of which a person pastes into a generator by hand.
- The app objected first. Prompt numbers are shared across the studio and stopped at 99, on the reasonable assumption that nobody would ever have 100 open at once. The Project Manager raised it to 999 within the hour, and we're choosing to read that as optimism.
- It isn't even all of it. 35 more are specced and waiting on their parents: plating needs the prep table first, the broken windows need unbroken ones to break, and the damaged boards need a board.
- Before anything went out, the Art Director settled four questions, including one fridge that the brief described as both "tall" and "counter height". It's counter height. It was never tall.
- Every one of the 168 is still checked here before it's accepted.
