Twenty recipes rewritten in plain steps, and a smarter shopping list
Twenty recipes are rewritten in plain, full-sentence steps with the same amounts, including Thai Red Curry Beef, Chicken Marsala, Mississippi Pot Roast Sliders, Salmon Chowder, Chimichurri Swai, Ropa Vieja and Pinto Beans. A few gaps are filled: Pad Prik King's bell pepper now goes in, and Beef Rendang lists its lime juice.
New "Make it healthier" versions: Salmon Patties with flax and chia, Mashed Cauliflower with olive oil and Greek yogurt, and Chicken Marsala with light pasta.
Thai Peanut Noodle now uses rice noodles, with light spaghetti when healthier.
Brand names moved out of the ingredients and into helpful notes, like where to buy curry paste.
The Meal Planner's shopping list adds up plain counts: "4 jalapeños" and "2 jalapeños" make "6 jalapeños", and "12 large eggs" and "2 hard-boiled eggs" are just eggs.
Pad Prik King before: 20 choppy fragments like "Add:", "fish sauce" and "Kill heat immediately". — the same method after: seven clear steps and a tip on where to buy curry paste.
