Servers keep running when the Claude app restarts
- Several of the studio's local servers, Control Room among them, kept dying for no obvious reason, often overnight. Each time someone had to notice and start them again.
- The cause took three days and two wrong guesses to find. A server started from inside a Claude session belonged to that session's group of processes on Windows, so when the Claude app restarted, Windows closed the server along with it. One of the wrong guesses was published and then withdrawn.
- Every server is now started outside that group, whichever way it's launched, so a Claude app restart leaves it running. Each start also writes one line saying which group the server ended up in, so if this comes back there's evidence, not guesses.
- The Art Director's note that one server's last request matched Control Room's to the second is what cracked it.
