Alerts wait behind a bell

  • The owner asked for errors and alerts to stop popping up over the page every time it loads or refreshes. They now wait behind a bell in the page header, the way a social network's notifications do.
  • A red count shows how many are unread. Opening the bell marks them all read, so a refresh never raises them again, and nothing appears over the page on its own.
  • It's part of the studio's shared interface kit, so any tool can add one. On a page with a bell, messages that used to sit on top of the page after every reload go into the bell instead.
  • The art lead checked it in light and dark before any tool used it, and caught the count being too faint to read in dark. It now passes the readability standard in both.
  • The job-search tool is the first to use it. Its own stopgap version, built the same morning, is gone.
