- The recording above is the app's demo mode. Its sounds are invented and a GIF carries no audio, so nothing in it is a real candidate and nothing here claims how any of it sounds.
- 66 files are in CHEF!'s hands, covering 51 of its 54 sounds, each with a row naming its source, licence and whether it needs a credit line. Twelve do, and those lines are collected at the top of the table so the game can paste them straight into its credits.
- The audition app now carries its own branding — a mascot-and-wordmark lockup by the Art Director, built on a shared header component so every tool in the studio gets the same treatment rather than each one inventing it.
- Approve and Reject replaced Keep and Reject across the studio's tools: three words had been in use for one action. A new Reject all unapproved clears a whole shortlist in one click. Every row it writes is marked as a bulk decision and says why, so the record never implies each file was judged one by one — including when a shortlist is cleared with nothing approved at all.
- Audio measurement went from reading file headers to real analysis: peaks, clipping, silence at the head and tail, and loudness. The first pass over the delivered set found a 36 dB spread between its quietest and loudest file, and no clipping anywhere.
- 27.8 seconds of dead silence came out of the set — a sound that starts half a second after you trigger it feels broken, however good the recording — and five files that were secretly mono in a stereo wrapper were halved in size for no loss. None of it touches the stored originals: the changes happen on the way out, so any of it can be undone by rebuilding.
- Nothing in this project says how anything sounds. No tool here can listen; the person who can does the judging, and the job is to make that judging cheap.
