Almost every job the list showed came from one short list of employers. Counting where each matching job listing came from showed that nearly all of them were on the hand-kept watchlist of employers' own job boards. The remote job boards added only a handful. The employers that hire most for AI transformation roles, large companies outside tech, weren't reachable at all: most post through Workday, which has no public feed.
Three search sources, which search across employers by keyword: Adzuna, USAJOBS for remote federal positions, and The Muse. Each needs a free key the person signs up for, and each is skipped quietly until its key is added. Adzuna's jobs carry its "Jobs by Adzuna" label, as its terms ask. Its salary estimates are never shown as the employer's pay.
A fourth kind of job board, SmartRecruiters. Its listings come without descriptions, so Job Scout opens a posting only when it's in the US, remote or hybrid, and its title could be a target role: a few dozen requests instead of hundreds.
The employer list nearly doubled, and every board was checked before it went in. Four boards that had been failing were found at their new addresses; two employers with no public board were left out. Fourteen were added: AI and automation vendors and remote-first companies. Two more were tried and dropped when none of their roles matched. On their first read, the new boards added about 120 matching listings.
All three search sources, checked live once their keys were added: Adzuna matched 50 listings, mostly at large non-tech employers; The Muse matched 79, nearly all remote, and produced one of the highest-scoring jobs on the list; USAJOBS matched 33. No federal AI opening was fully remote that day, but many allow telework, which federal jobs mean as part-time from home, so those are kept as hybrid, the marked fallback, like any other source's hybrid jobs.
Titles with brackets now match. "IT Specialist (Artificial Intelligence)" failed the title check because the bracket hid the words; brackets and slashes now separate words.
