The controls now behave the way they do in the studio's other games. The war-room look is unchanged; what changed is what the buttons and keys do.
The sound button remembers your choice between visits, and the M key turns sound on and off. Screen readers now hear the button correctly: it used to report "pressed" when the sound was off.
Restart battle asks first, in the game's own dialog, once a battle is under way: Cancel or Restart battle, and Esc cancels. Once a battle has ended it restarts straight away, since there's nothing left to lose. (dialog)
Losing now has its own screen with a Restart battle button, like winning and the draw do. Before, a defeat only changed the phase label and the banner on the field. (defeat)
A Debug button, the backquote key or ?debug labels every tile from A1 to R10, so a problem on the field can be pointed to by name. It's off until you turn it on.
The game opens with the studio intro, and Esc closes the topmost panel, whether that's the briefing or an end screen.
